Our verdict

The Landestelle is a lounge under the open sky on the Klybeckquai, in the heart of the old harbour district. Here you watch the sun set over the Rhine, between old harbour structures and deckchairs.

It is not a place for a quick drink, but for a long summer evening.

In the glass and on the board

There is wine, beer, cocktails and lemonade, and regulars recommend the Picon bière. To eat there are aperitif boards with dips and bread, and Gasparini ice cream.

Location

The Landestelle is on the Klybeckquai, north of the Dreirosenbrücke. Tram 8 runs from the Inselstrasse stop to Claraplatz in seven minutes.

Our advice

The season runs from April to September, and in June, July and August it is open daily. In cold weather, thunderstorms or high winds the lounge stays closed, so check the website before you set off.
